Wizards Owner Abe Pollin Passes Away at 85

In the middle of High School week we have the unfortunate news of reporting that the owner of the Washington Wizards, Abe Pollin, passed away today at the age of 85. Pollin had previously owned the Washington Mystics and the Washington Capitals.

Pollin was a long time supporter of Israel and Jewish causes. He served on the boards for AIPAC, Hillel, and The Israel Project. He was an activist for Soviet Jews. Pollin was also close friends with former Prime Minister of Israel, Yitzchak Rabin.

May his memory be for a blessing.
