We hate to bring you bad news, but unfortunately Binghamton's David Fine has been kicked off the Bearcats basketball team. In what has been a crazy off-season for the Binghamton Bearcats, Fine seems to be just another casualty.
Earlier in the summer Binghamton dealt with rumors of Emanuel "Tiki" Mayben using/selling cocaine. Mayben, who lead the Bearcats to an NCAA berth last year, was eventually removed from their basketball program and school. This year the team not only lost Mayben and Fine but also other major contributors D.J. Rivera, Malik Alvin, Corey Chandler, and Paul Crosby. The team will definitely have trouble filling their shoes.
No reasons were given for the departure for anyone besides Mayben. All the remaining players have been allowed to remain in school.
There has been major criticism surrounding the Bearcats coach Kevin Broadus. He said, "There's only one captain steering this ship, and that's me. If any of the young men in our program don't respect the decisions that have been made or the rules we have in place, then they need to move on with their lives." - www.espn.com
While there is still some confusion and uncertainty surrounding the situation, we here at TGR wish David Fine the best in his future endeavors. We have emailed with Fine in the past and he seems like a great guy who just got involved in an unfortunate situation.
And Let Us Say...Amen.
